STEP 16 – BATTLING BUGS

broken image

Nothing beats an outdoor game on a beautiful, sunny day! Sitting in your camping chair, eating a hot dog from the concession stand and engaging and pleasant conversation with your fellow sports parents while you cheer on your child’s team can be the perfect way to end a nice spring or summer day.

But all bets are off when the bugs are out. Yuck! Sometimes it feels as if you spend more time swatting mosquitoes than you do watching the game. And that concession stand hot dog looks much less appealing after a fly’s landed on it.

Short of dousing yourself and your athlete in a commercial insect repellent full of chemicals that are bad for your body, your skin, and the environment, what’s a parent to do?

One of the jobs of Essential Oils is to protect the plants they are found in. This includes repelling insects. Several Essential Oils can help fend off unwanted pests for both plants AND people. This list includes:

• Arborvitae

• Cedarwood

• Cinnamon

• Clove

• Geranium

• Lemongrass

• Peppermint

• Rosemary

• Thyme

The special OUTDOOR BLEND contains many oils that naturally repel insects including Ylang Ylang, Tamanu, Nootka, Cedarwood, Catnip, Lemon Eucalyptus, Litsea, Vanilla Bean, and Arborvitae.

This blend is gentle and natural, and best of all, it smells much better than most commercial bug sprays, so you won’t have to worry about being the one who stinks up the stands.

The OUTDOOR BLEND comes packaged two different ways:

• A 15 ml oil in a regular bottle and

• A 30 ml plastic spray bottle for easy application.

Both versions contain Fractionated Coconut Oil, so you can apply to clothing or directly on skin. Make sure you have this blend handy for any outdoor activity, sporting game, or camping trip.
